Radio Maisha presenter Mbaruk Mwalimu on Saturday, February 13, officially exited the bachelor's club when he wed Switch TV anchor Hadiyah Mwasiwa.
The ceremony referred to as a Nikah which was held in line with Islam tradition took place in Ukunda, Kwale County.
The couple was dressed in traditional wedding outfits with the guests also dressed to the occasion.
A number of media personalities were present at the event including Radio Maisha's Billy Miya, and veteran anchor Badi Muhsin.
Mbaruk has worked for different radio stations before joining Radio Maisha. He hosted Milele Breakfast at Milele FM alongside his Co-host Billy Miya.
He also worked at Baraka FM and hosted breakfast and drive shows.
In 2017, the presenter applied to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) as a tradesman.
“Last year, I applied for KDF as a tradesman. Na nikachukuliwa kama Kenya Airforce. I joined in July but something came up tukachujwa nikarudi home. Iliniwaste kweli hio time coz nilikua nimeacha job. (I was chosen to join the Airforce but after I joined I was eliminated. It was a great loss for me because I had left my job to be part of the KDF)" he disclosed in a previous interview.
As for Mwasiwa, she was among the new line-up of anchors unveiled at Switch TV in July 2020 after some of its top presenters were poached by K24 TV.
The Swahili anchor was announced alongside, Fredrick Muitiriri, Nancy Onyancha, Joel Chacha and Emmanuel Terer as the new faces of the South C based television channel.
