Citizen TV news anchor Mashirima Kapombe lit up social media with videos of her dancing and rapping along to a new song released by popular musician Mejja.

The video, which was taken at Citizen TV offices by colleague Yvonne Okwara, provided insights into the lives of news anchors when they are not presenting the bulletin.

Mashirima was expressing her love for the new song called Siskii in which the musician tackled the theme of toxic relationships.

In the video, he talks about how hard it is to listen and follow advice from friends and family who encourage him to leave his unhealthy relationships.

The song which has accumulated more than 300,000 views in 4 days has become popular because many Kenyans can relate to the message.

According to counsellors, a toxic relationship can negatively impact your physical and mental health.

It can make you feel insecure or bad about yourself, leave you feeling drained and unhappy, place pressure on you to change something about yourself or may even be physically and emotionally harmful.

Mashirima's colleague Lillian Muli has in the past disclosed how she survived 2 toxic relationships

"It is so sad to see so many people in pain. I have seen all your messages and for those who have lived through that and overcome, I am so happy for you. I have to go to bed now but after going through the same at least twice in my life, I realised I was attracting the same characters in my relationships because I was attracted to a certain type.

"You must put an end to attracting a certain type. Take time to heal and then really take time before you open up to someone close," she advised.

It was during this phase that she was captured on camera screaming at a patron in a restaurant, she was at the very tipping point and depressed at the time.
