The two later proceeded to a tree planting session as part of the community conservation at the said grounds.

Ngirici, a diehard supporter of Deputy President William Ruto, has not been shy of casting her doubts about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Flanked by the Tangatanga brigade, the she has been at the forefront of campaigning for the hustler narrative.

On the other hand, Kibicho, a BBI proponent, is one of President Uhuru Kenyatta's close allies. Among the powerful men in Uhuru's government, Kibicho has toured various counties steering the BBI agenda within the grassroots.

Ngirici and Kibicho have in the past been at loggerheads over the coveted and lucrative Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat of.

This has seen Ngirici and Kibicho wage war against each other in a bid to have a say in matters regarding the county.

However, Kibicho has often disputed claims regarding his bid to succeed incumbent governor Anne Waiguru.

"Today, I am the PS for Interior, and I have never stood anywhere and announced that I want to be elected as the governor of Kirinyaga. I have no interest in the seat,” he said.
