Goldenscape Chief Executive Officer Peter Wangai has gone missing again.

A report by Citizen TV on Monday, May 10, indicated that a Nairobi court issued an arrest warrant against the founder of the greenhouse business.

Wangai failed to show up during the hearing of a case in which he was accused of defrauding Kenyans their investments amounting to millions of shillings through the collapsed greenhouse business.

He had earlier been scheduled for the hearing in March but his lawyer informed the court that he fell ill after contracting Covid-19 virus.

The hearing was then rescheduled but he failed to show up again.

The besieged CEO first went missing in March 2020 shortly after a Citizen TV exposé laid bare his malpractices and fleecing tendencies.

In the exposé, a total of 53 people who claim that they invested in the company lodged complaints with the DCI since the exposé aired on the prime time news bulletin of Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is set to charge the embattled Goldenscape founder with 360 criminal charges.

The charges are contained in 18 different files.

Later that month, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested Wangai but he pleaded not guilty to 21 counts of fraud-related charges.

"Wangai, through his company, lured investors to invest in greenhouses that were to be set up in Ol Kalou, Nyahururu and other places which turned out to be a fraudulent investment deal," the statement by DCI read in part.

In his defence, he explained that he was only a director of the Goldenscape company.
