Malindi legislator Aisha Jumwa dismissed reports that she was pondering leaving Deputy President William Ruto's faction after meeting with Trade Unionist Francis Atwoli.

Reports by Taifa Leo indicated that the meeting between the Member of Parliament and the COTU boss was not planned.

Jumwa stated that she would not be leaving DP's side as she eyes vying for the Kilifi Gubernatorial seat in 2022.

On Saturday, July 3, Atwoli posted a photo of a meeting with the Malindi MP and her Msambweni counterpart Feisal Bader.

The photo raised eyebrows among their supporters bearing in mind that the two leaders are nemeses, often trolling each other in public rallies.

Jumwa and Atwoli have had a frosty relationship that saw the two exchange vile words and insults over 2022 succession politics.

In April, Jumwa referred to the COTU boss as 'Mwanaume bwege' which is Swahili for a good-for-nothing man.

She explained that Atwoli was only keen on stopping Deputy President William Ruto from becoming president in 2022, but had no aspirations of his own.

But Atwoli did not take her comments easily and he hit back and ridiculed the MP with his perception of her beauty.

"Achana na huyo mama, hata sio type yangu, huyo hata si taste yangu. Anacheza sana na jina yangu. Mpime na ruler, hata hana kiuno (Leave her alone, she is not my type, she is not my taste. She is just playing with my name. She doesn't even have a waist)," Atwoli had stated.

Jumwa would respond stating that she did not desire the trade unionist either, sparking a back and forth between the leaders and their allies.

The trade unionist has been very vocal about his disapproval of DP Ruto, accusing him of being corrupt and incapable of leading the country.

He vowed to support Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is very confident of flooring Ruto to clinch the presidency come 2022.
