Speaking at Konza Technopolis on Friday, July 9, Raila Odinga who had accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta among other leaders, invited President Kenyatta to join the NASA coalition.
"We are talking and we are going to come together your excellency, and we are going to invite you to become a NASA member," Raila stated.
The former premier also indicated that there are plans to bring more political leaders to NASA, a move aimed at restructuring and strengthening the coalition.
Raila went on to dismiss claims that he is issuing conditions to other NASA principles. He indicated that they are in talks and no conditions were issued whatsoever.
The President was accompanied by the ODM leader alongside his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka and Ukambani counties governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), and Alfred Mutua (Machakos).
“The dream of Vision 2030 flagship projects, Lapset, SGR and Konza City projects are now coming to reality. State of the art ICT Centre is coming to reality at Konza City," Raila said.
Raila said leaders should work together to achieve development as has been proved during Uhuru's leadership.
He added that the Jubilee government's development agenda and projects -if effectively implemented- will improve the livelihoods of Kenyans and place the country into middle-income status by the year 2030.
The ODM leader and NASA chief also stated that further developments were also coming up in the Konza region such as the modern airport that is set to be constructed.
He associated these achievements with the cooperation between leaders to achieve the development agenda stating that it could only be achieved if leaders work together.
The president seconded the statements made by his handshake counterpart and attributed these achievements to being realized due to cooperation between various leaders.
"Because we have united and cooperated, I want to thank MPs who supported us and ensured we allocated funds needed alongside local leaders who saw the dreams that we work together," Uhuru said.
