The family of the late businessman Tob Cohen wrote a tribute in his remembrance on the Daily Nation publication obituary section on Tuesday, July 20.

Notably, the name of Cohen's wife, Sarah Wairimu Cohen, was missing from the tribute.

Tob was found murdered in his home on September 13, 2019, and Sarah was arrested in connection to the crime.

In their tribute, the family indicated that they were still grief-stricken but were comforted by the great and wonderful memories that they shared when Cohen was still alive.

"Dear Tob, today marks the second year anniversary of your departure from this world...Your spirit and legacy continue to shine on.

"Affectionately remembered by your sister Gabriele Cohen, her husband Roy van Straten, nephew Seth and family, your friends, and all the lives you touched all over the globe. You are sorely missed and loved beyond measure," reads an excerpt from the obituary.

The body of the Dutch billionaire was retrieved from an underground water tank in his home in Lower Kabete.

He had been missing since July 20, 2019, when his sister filed a missing person's report with the police.

Speaking to the media the day Tob's body was found, Director of Criminal Investigations boss, George Kinoti, described the tycoon's death as gruesome. He added that his killers had taken their time in committing the atrocious crime.

"He hands, legs, and the neck were all bound before he was murdered and then hid in an underground water tank," Kinoti had explained.

Sarah was later released on a Ksh2 million cash bail.

Before his death, Tob had expressed fears for his life in a letter to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji just eight days before he went missing.
