The children, 6 girls and 4 boys, were rescued by the police in the wee hours of the morning after the police were alerted of their illegal detaining.

Makadara Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo who led the successful rescue operation, said police failed to nab the main suspect who had illegally detained the children.

Police however managed to nab an 18-year-old boy who was keeping watch over the minors. Police commander Timon Odingo confirmed that the abducted children hailed from Mwiki, Kariobangi, Mathare, and Shauri Moyo.

This comes on the backdrop of a series of child abduction cases in the country in the last few days, after police nabbed and detained 2 child abductors and serial murderers.

The serial killers, Masten Wanjala and Evans Wanjala, carried out a series of murders of young children, with their modus operandi being abducting and then mercilessly killing them in the most cruel and horrific manner.

Both serial killers who are now in custody, have brought fear to many parents in the country who worry for the safety of their children, any time they are out of their sight.

Masten Wanjala, the serial killer who killed over 10 children, particularly caught the attention of many in the way he tortured and killed his victims.

The serial killer, in a blow-by-blow revelation to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), revealed that he sucked the blood off of his victims, in what many were shocked to learn.

Children abduction and killings have been on the rise in last few months, with parents urged to be cautious with the safety of their children, as police up the anti in fighting crimes against children.
