Norman Magaya, the Head of Political Affairs for the Wiper Party, has detailed Kalonzo Musyoka's led party economic blueprint ahead of the 2022 General election.
Speaking during an interview on a local TV station on August 03, Magaya stated that Wiper Party has started diagnosing issues at hand haunting the country and on top of that list is the economy.
The former NASA CEO claimed that the first issue the party seeks to address in their economic resumption model is corruption.
He stated that the party intends to curb corruption in the public sector and procurement and fix it by charging in court those involved and going to the extent of recovering the public finances that have been lost in the process.
Other than corruption, the Wiper economic model seeks to level the taxation system. Magaya came out clear that the party intends to tax those who are the biggest gainers in the economy.
Those targeted include multi-national companies that are investing heavily in the country. Their model seeks to compel the heavy investors to account for their profit.
The party further seeks to empower the middle income and spur development in their sectors so that to expand the tax base in the country but not through the 'Bottom-up model' fronted by Deputy President William Ruto.
Moreover, Wiper Party has claimed that its economic model wants to rivet the health care system so that the poor and the rich get an equal opportunity when it comes to accessing services. Magaya advocated for the Public Health care system that caters to everyone.
The model also seeks to provide a platform for Kenyans to invest privately into homeownership which is the stability of the family unit. This will offer immunity to homeowners against auctioneers.
On Kenyans listed on Credit Reference Bureaus (CRBs), Magaya insisted that the Wiper party economic model would review the terms that would enable small and medium enterprises to get back to their feet as most of the people listed fall in that category.
The number of loan accounts negatively listed with CRBs hit 14 million, underscoring the struggles Kenyans are having with debt payments.
