List of Nairobi Estates That'll Experience Water Shortage This Week

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) Limited on Monday, August 9, listed a number of estates that would experience water shortage in the course of this week. 

The shutdown will begin on Wednesday, August 11 at 6am to Friday, August 13 at 6am.

In a statement, NCWSC indicated that the interruption would be for customers served from Dagoretti and Uthiru reservoirs.

Further, the company explained that there was a scheduled shut down of the Dagoretti and Uthiru pumps at Kabete Water Works Pumping Station.

"This shut down will facilitate installation of suction mains and delivery headers for Dagoretti and Uthiru pumps at Kabete Pumping Station and commissioning of two new pumps to boost water from Kabete reservoirs to Uthiru Reservoir," reads the statement in part.

At the same time, the company is working to transport more water to Karen and other areas when the Northern Collector Tunnel water project is complete.

Some of the estates that will be affected during the shutdown include;

- Parts Gitanga Road, Amboseli road, Sunset Estate, Sohill City Estates and environs.

-The whole of Kawangware 56 and 46, Congo, lower parts of Macharia Road and environs.

-The whole of Riruta satellite, Kagondo, Muhuru Rd, Upper Kabiria, Mithonge, Kamwanya, Kahuho Road, Ngina Road, Kikuyu Road, Waithaka Road and environs.

-Waithaka, Gachui, Kirigo, Dagoretti Market and Mariguini and environs.

-Uthiru, Mountain View Estate, Kangemi, Thiongo Road and environs.

-The whole of Karen area.

NCWSC advised its clients to reserve and use water sparingly before and during the interruption.
