  • Technological company Google on Wednesday, August 11, released a list of the most searched topics, questions and personalities by Kenyans since it launched the search-analysing website - Google Trends - in 2006.

The company disclosed that top searches were about what ranked higher on Google charts. The queries had been ranked in order by volume of searches across various regions and languages.

"Google Trends website analyses the popularity of search queries in Google Search and uses graphs to compare search volumes of different queries over time," reads an excerpt of the press statement.

The searches confirmed Kenyans' preoccupation with politicians - with the political class taking the top six most search personalities.

The individuals include President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM Leader Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto, activist Miguna Miguna, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Truth is I have Been through many highs and lows in life and having started my media career so young I’ve gone through most of it in the public eye which is never easy. It’s actually quite tough. It’s like living your youth plus young adult life with everyone watching," media personality Betty Kyalo commented.
