Police in Madaraka have launched a manhunt for an avocado seller implicated in the murder of a city tout.

The man, identified only as Mwala, who sells avocados is accused of playing part in the murder of a tout attached to the Indimanje Matatu Sacco which ply the Hillock-Muthurwa route.

Bernard Musyoka alias Swaleh, was on Sunday, August 29, found dead in a guest house in Nairobi's Mukuru informal settlements.

Swaleh is said to have arrived in the room, which he shared with Mwala at 9pm on Saturday, August 28, only to be found dead the afternoon hours of the following day.

Makadara Police boss, Timon Odingo, told a local media house that the deceased had visible injuries and that they were looking for Mwala to help with investigations.

“Investigations into the matter have kicked-off and the suspect, who is still at large, will be nabbed soon so as he sheds more light into the incident,” Odingo stated.

According to the police, the deceased was a regular client at the guest house and shared a room with Mwala.

The tout's family wants the police to speed up the investigations and bring to book those found culpable of his murder.

Musyoka's elder sister stated that her brother was injured in the chest and part of the stomach had visible injuries.

"Blood was also oozing from his mouth, and there is no way the attendants can say that my brother arrived there complaining that he was unwell," she disclosed.

A worker who was on duty at the guest house had claimed that Musyoka had arrived at the guest house a few minutes before 9pm and informed him that he was unwell.

He then asked for water and took some tablets before going to bed.

Mwala, who shared the room with the deceased, allegedly left the premises without giving any information.
