Renowned hip hop artist Julius Owino, alias Juliani, has recorded a statement at the Kilimani Police Station Wednesday, September 1, over life-threatening messages he has been receiving from unknown persons.

Political activist Boniface Mwangi decried that the musician's life was in danger after he received threatening text messages from an unknown number.

The unknown texter allegedly asked the musician to refrain from posting photos with the former Machakos First Lady, Lilian Ng'anga, on his social media pages.

"He told him to stop posting pics posed with his friend Lilian Ng'ang'a and if he continues, they will kill him," Mwangi posted on his Twitter page.

Kenyans.co.ke reached out to Juliani who confirmed that he had made a report to the police but failed to share further details.

He had, however, made a statement on Wednesday evening saying;

"The call/text threat on my life today, NOT funny!"

The incident comes just weeks after Lilian announced that she and Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua, had parted ways.

"The only constant thing in life is change, and we must be present and aware to appreciate and embrace it," she stated.

“Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end the long term relationship with Dr Alfred Mutua. We had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together. We remain friends," she added.

The governor responded saying that their separation was imminent and that the two were not destined to be together.

"Lillian and I have been a blessing to each other. Two months ago, we decided to slowly disengage. We are on amicable terms and remain very close as friends. We will continue to talk, meet and share ideas constantly," the Governor's statement read in part.

Following their announcement, social media was awash with speculation that the musician and Lilian were in a relationship, something that the two neither accepted or denied.
