In a past interview, Muriu attributed her inspiration for the Camo series to the Kenyan women and their different fashion styles drawn from the diversity in the different cultures in Kenya.

Her Camo project began in 2015 and was in June 2021 showcased at the 193 Gallery in Paris, France.

For the project, Muriu used items that are found in most Kenyan homes which she stated are usually used for more than one purpose in Kenyan households.

"The series is titled CAMO because of how the subject of each image camouflages into the background."

"It’s a commentary on how many times we can lose ourselves in our culture and community and yet there are such unique things about every individual. It’s a little ironic - I want my models to blend into the background even as they stand out,” Muriu explained during an interview with Design Indaba.

The Apple event held on Tuesday, was the annual iPhone-centric event, introducing the iPhone 13 mini, ‌iPhone 13‌, iPhone 13 Pro, and ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ Max.

The company also gave its clients a look at the new Apple Watch Series 7 and the new ninth-generation low-cost iPad and the iPad mini 6.
