Media personality, Natalie Githinji, has recounted her experience with a Nakuru doctor accused of killing his two children before attempting suicide on September 15.

The NRG Radio presenter revealed that she learnt of the tragic incident through the mother of the doctor, identified as James Gakara.

Through her morning show on Tuesday, September 21, Natalie stated that the doctor is the one who discovered her health condition and was her gynecologist for more than one and half years.

She narrated that the doctor gave her mum a lot of hope when she was giving up on her health condition.

"The doctor was with me in my medical journey. He discovered my condition. He took me through the journey for like one and a half years," she stated.

Natalie added that the medic was always at hand to give her hope when her health condition deteriorated.

"I used to give up, telling him that I'm tired but he used to tell me that I was going to be okay," she narrated.

She said that she received the news with a lot of shock, terming the death of the two minors as unfortunate.

The radio personality said she regretted not asking the doctor how he was fairing on when she had the chance to.

"I am just imagining now what he felt sitting behind that desk asking me what I was going through, I just wish I could have asked him how he was doing," Natalie stated.

She, however, used the chance to appeal to her audience to normalise checking on their friends, especially those who appear brave and superfine.

Dr Gakara is currently admitted at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital and is under police watch.

A post mortem conducted on the two babies to establish the cause of their deaths was, however, declared inconclusive.

More samples were collected and sent to the government chemist for further toxicology examinations.
