The suspect had allegedly obtained money by false pretense contrary to Section 313 of the Penal Code.

Knowing his goose was cooked, he quickly hatched a plan to distract Sergeant Rose Mwanzia and police constable Geoffrey Koros. He emerged from his bedroom nude, prompting the officers to allow him time to dress up.

The suspect put on a pair of jeans and a shirt before sneaking into his kitchen.

However, the officers noticed him and quickly followed him into the kitchen. But before they could make an arrest, he had sneaked out to the balcony.

Upon scrutiny, he had jumped off, breaking his limbs.

The police, Mwanzia and Koros administered first aid to him before rushing him to hospital. The suspect had fractured multiple limbs on his body, owing to the impact of the fall.

He was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where he is in serious condition. Hospital staff are helping him nurse the self-inflicted injuries before he gets arraigned in court.
