President Uhuru Kenyatta and Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's son, Commander of Land Forces, Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, were spotted hanging out in Nairobi.

Although details remain scanty on the whereabouts and the engagements of Muhoozi, the Ugandan Head of State's son, posted a photo saying he was happy to be visiting Uhuru in Nairobi.

Away from their busy schedules, the two, who donned casual outfits, seemed to be enjoying their time.

"I was honoured to visit my elder, my big brother and my hero recently in Nairobi. President Uhuru is an inspiration to many of us across East Africa and Africa!" Kainerugaba wrote.

It is not the first time that Kainerugaba has expressed his admiration for Uhuru.

Afande Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. President of Kenya and a very great man. Nobody can stop reggae! God bless him,” Kainerugaba stated in a post in August 2021.

Ugandan media reported that Kainerugaba was in Nairobi following a trip to Somalia between September 23 and 27.

During the trip, the Lieutenant paid a courtesy call on the President of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble and the AMISOM military leadership.

He also interacted with Ugandan troops involved in operations against Al Shabaab in a bid to restore peace and stability in the country.

“The purpose of my visit is to commend the troops for the great work they are doing in Somalia. Secondly, it is to talk to them and get a feel of the problems and challenges they are facing,” he stated.

Museveni is East Africa’s longest serving President and has been pushing for a federation of East African states.

He and President Kenyatta enjoy a cordial relationship.
