Machakos Governor and Presidential aspirant Alfred Mutua has admitted that he misses his ex-wife Lilian Ng'ang'a following their split.

In a sit-down with a local publication, the politician disclosed that the two are still friends and talk quite often.

He further noted that it was normal for an individual to miss their former companion especially after spending some time together.

“You miss people who come into your life. The people who are in your life, even for a month, two months, or 20 years, they leave a part of them in you. It is natural for you to miss them.

"You have to be the devil incarnate for you not to miss them,” he admitted.

He further noted that their relationship ended on amicable terms since they both agreed to walk away from their marriage.

“When you have issues with people you have lived with, let them remain there. No one is perfect in this world. Just have a little respect and decorum," he added.

Ng'ang'a  announced separation from the Governor in mid-August noting that she had also stepped down from her duties as the county's First Lady.

She would later confirm her relationship with rapper Julius Owino, famously know as Juliani, a move that would erupt into a storm leading to the latter filing a report with the police claiming his life was in danger.

Juliani indicated that he had received threatening messages shortly after his relationship with Lilian went public.

"In this photo, are two fully conscious adults who have chosen to be together.

"Any other narrative is false, outdated and ill-intentioned. Let's respect people's choices," Ng'ang'a and Juliani confirmed their relationship on social media, two weeks after her separation.

Mutua, however, maintains that him and Ng'ang'a remain friends and that they both share ideas and listen to each other.
