Kieni Member of Parliament, Kanini Kega on Tuesday, October 26, warned Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru to brace for tougher times ahead, after she defected to the United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA)

Kanini Kega advised Waiguru to enjoy the red carpet reception she received in the UDA party, stating that it shall be short lived.

He advised Waiguru to keep those words in mind for future reference.

"The red carpet reception you have received is only valid for today. Save this post for future reference," he stated.

Kanini Kega, Raila Odinga’s close ally has warned Waiguru that her tribulations are unforeseen, and they will start manifesting immediately after the excitement is over.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyajui also delivered fired warning shots at Waiguru, pointing out that she has made the move at a wrong time, and this may end her political career.

After sending a goodbye message to Waiguru, he stated that UDA should not celebrate victories yet, as January 2022 may take different turns.

"In politics, timing is key, it is what distinguishes a master stroke from a disastrous move. It has ended many careers if not well thought.

"I am reminded of the parable of the ladies who finished their oil before the main wedding. When the final day came, they were empty. The wedding starts in January," governor Kinyanjui remarked.

These sentiments came hours after Waiguru openly declared that she had officially defected from the Jubilee Party to UDA.

She received a warm reception from UDA officials and the Deputy President William Ruto, at the DP’s Karen residence.

Waiguru noted that she decided to move to UDA, since her people from Kirinyaga had told her that UDA was their party of choice
