"At the time after I was fired, my life was in shambles due to hard economic times as I couldn't afford to pay rent and provide day-to-day basic needs for my wife and small child, Kevatin Khangi, " he stated.

His woes deepened after house agents began seizing his items in order to repay the rent he had not paid in months. Mwangi alleged that his wife one day packed her bags and left the home with their child.

"We would get into altercations and one day she decided to pack her bags and leave. She wasn't there for me and my child. So this predicament made me fall into depression and I started drinking," he stated.

Fortunately, Mwangi was assisted by some of his friends including Felix Odiwour alias Jalang'o and Ithagu Kibicho alias Henry Desagu.

Recounting events, the media personality also gave a detailed account of how he got into the media industry. Through a personal friend, Mwangi got a chance to act at Comedy Club - a comedy show that ran on NTV.

However, the show was ultimately cancelled after the management was restructured.

"The boss at NTV was fired, so the new boss called us for a minor meeting where we convened outside Tribeka. She spoke through the window of her vehicle, Toyota Noah, and told us she didn't understand what the show was about. The boss ultimately fired all of us," he stated.

He along with fellow comedians were handed a brown paper bag containing Ksh7,000 as part of their due payments. The comedian delved into various ventures such as set books, doing graffiti in public service vehicles in order to make ends meet. Fortunately, a call from fellow comedian JB Masanduku earned him an interview for a show in KTN.

Trying out various acts from impersonating President Uhuru Kenyatta to COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, he finally got contracted to play a diva character by the name Shaniqwa.

This led him to multiple opportunities as this earned him a chance to have his own segment on the show. However, a few months later, he was let go.
