A CCTV footage emerged on Thursday, October 28, showing seven armed men heading to lawyer Hassan Nandwa's home before they allegedly ransacked it.
The men could be seen entering the apartment and going to the eighth floor of the house where Nandwa's house is located.
The lawyer's son, Elmiqdad Hassan, disclosed that he heard a knock on the door and went to check who was at the entrance.
"Upon checking, I found that there were plain clothes officers who were armed to the teeth. Their look was very fierce and I was frightened," Hassan stated.
"They told me that they wanted to do a search but they did not have a search warrant," he added.
Before leaving the house, his father intimated he would be going to process documents for a client who was being released after serving 10 years in prison.
However, family members did not hear from him again as he switched off his mobile phone, something that was unusual.
On being asked what they were searching for, 'the plain-clothed police officers' stated that they were looking for ex-convict Elgiva Bwire, an Al Shaabab militant who had just been released from police custody.
"They told us that they had no issue with the old man and that they wanted the other man," Hassan added.
Nandwa's abduction took place at the same time as when his client's mother, Jecinta Bwire, and his driver took place in Muthaiga.
All but Nandwa have since been released.
Nandwa represented Bwire in his appeal that reduced his sentence to 10 years. The reason for Bwire's abduction remains unknown.
