Kenyan Premier League football club, Gor Mahia, was on Tuesday, November 23, slammed over a gift they presented to former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil's agent, Erkut Rugut.

This is after the club's chairman, Ambrose Rachier, gifted Sogut, Gor Mahia's popular green home kit – the green jersey.

However, what sparked rage among the football fans was the printing of Ozil's name on the kit presented to the manager at the green army's offices in Nairobi.

Contrary to a printed jersey, the top football club presented Sugut with a jersey but with a paper written the former Arsenal and Real Madrid man's name and number loosely attached at the back.

This was contrary to the fully printed jersey from Turkish-based outfit, Fernabahce Football Club, with Ozil's name - that was presented to Rachier by his agent. The photo was shared by fans who were puzzled by what they described as an inappropriate gift.

"Good grief. Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier couldn't send this shirt to the printer before gifting it to Mesut Ozil's agent Dr Erkut Sogut? What an embarrassment for Gor and the country!" a sports enthusiast commented.

"Hello, Ozil, kindly accept this gift from Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier. Dr. Erkut Sogut, your agent, has ensured that it is printed in black and white!" another satirically commented.

However, the Kenyan football club rectified the error and presented Sogut with a duly printed jersey.

The club's boss further announced that there were plans underway to set up a friendly between K'Ogalo and Fenerbahçe.

Sogut is in the country for a series of sports seminars. He presented playing kits and equipment to Gor Mahia youth team at Camp Toyoyo before proceeding to a lecture on player agents at Hemingway’s hotel, Karen.

In May 2019, the former Real Madrid and Arsenal man gifted jerseys and boots to a group of boys in Nairobi after their colleague Lawrence Masira were spotted wearing a homemade Ozil shirt while herding cattle in the streets of Nairobi.
