Radio personality, Maina Kageni, has announced plans to quit radio in 2022 while at the same time revealing his future plans.

Kageni, who made the announcement during his morning breakfast show on Classic 105 on Thursday, December 9, noted that 2022 will mark the end of his era on radio.

The renowned presenter made it clear that his plan after quitting the Radio Africa-owned station is to start his own business venture in the United States.

Turning into a full-time entrepreneur, Kageni intends to run a night club.

"Come next year, I am done. I will be retiring from this radio job. I plan on running a club in Miami," Kageni stated.

He further revealed that he had already bought a house in the US. The house, he noted, will be his starting point as he seeks to venture into his dream business.

"I will be living in my condor. I bought it some time back. I thought we talked about this?" Maina posed while responding to his co-host, comedian Daniel Ndambuki also known as Churchill.

The two have popularised the Classic 105 show famously known as Maina and King'ang'i in the morning. The duo enjoys massive support from across the country with their show serving humor and relationship advises.

Apart from being among the highly-rated presenters in the country, Maina runs several other side hustles including emceeing, moderating events, and running commercials.

His decision to start a business venture in the US is informed by his experience residing there and his passion for holidaying in the country.

On October 22 this year, Maina also opened up on eyeing a government job under President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration.

The radio presenter stated that he was eyeing an ambassadorial job immediately he quits radio. He, however, did not reveal when he was planning to leave his high-paying job.

“I have never thought of a political seat, never ever, I can’t even think about it. I am going to be an ambassador."

“I want to be a diplomat in a foreign nation save for Gabon. My plan will always be to be an ambassador,” he reiterated.

He expressed optimism that President Kenyatta would deploy him to either Switzerland or the US as Kenya's ambassador.

“I need to be appointed before Uhuru exits the office,” he added.
