A young Kenyan woman has emerged as the top executive leader in the country based on the annual top 100 African leaders ranking by the Institut Choiseul Company located in Paris, France.
Rose Wanjiku Muturi, who serves as the Managing Director of Branch in East Africa, was ranked position 28 overall in this year's Choiseul 100 Africa.
Muturi emerged first among the three Kenyans that featured as part of the Top 100 individuals on the list. The others were Darshan Chandaria of Chandaria Group of Companies and George Gachara, a Managing Partner at HEVA Fund LLP.
Choiseul 100 Africa is an annual study independently carried out by the Institut Choiseul.
It identifies and ranks the young African leaders of 40 years old and below, who will play a major role in the continent’s economic development in the near future.
Muturi has made tremendous progress in her career since joining the business world in 2007 as a Business Analyst for Shared Distribution at Standard Chartered Bank.
Ever since, she has held managerial positions in numerous companies including Chase Bank, Trans Union, Tala and HF Group before moving to serve at Branch International.
Institu Choisel recognised the 40-year-old leader for her role as the Chief Digital Officer at HF Group. She has been featured on the list every year since 2016.
Study Criteria
The Choiseul 100 Africa study was independently carried out by the Institut Choiseul between winter 2020 and winter 2021.
Factors that were considered for eligibility included being 40 years old or below on the 31st of December 2021, a citizen of the African countries as well as being an active contributor to the economic development of Africa.
The Institute release two lists ranking Top 100 leaders as well as an additional 100 to close the Top 200 young leaders on the continent.
20 additional Kenyans were also honoured in the latter list for their innovative projects.
