Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has revealed his love for chips mwitu alongside other Kenyan dishes like Githeri and Nyama Choma.
The former Prime Minister made the revelations during a quickfire session with his team while he was driving himself on his birthday on Sunday, January 9.
in the 6-minute clip, Raila was put on the hot seat and asked where he would consider living in Nairobi's Githurai, Dagoretti and Kayole estates.
In his answer, the presidential aspirant noted that he would comfortably live in Dagoretti since it is closer to his home.
"Of course Dagoretti is nearer to me. When I am there, I would eat Githeri and Nyama Choma. I know Chipo Mwitu, it is really good," he quipped noting that he wears sneakers frequently.
During the drive, the former Prime Minister also poked holes into the Deputy President William Ruto's wheelbarrow slogan noting that it did not make any sense.
He noted that the bottom-up approach was equally as confusing and that trickle down system would ensure equitable share of the resources across the country.
"Of course, the wheelbarrow thing does not make any sense to me. I don't know who conceived it and how it is meant to help the people.
"To me, it really does not make any sense. Even the so called bottom-up approach. I don't even understand it. We are talking about dealing with the society in totality. Trickle down helps the marginalised section of the country. You just have to ensure that you are fair and their is equity in sharing of resources across the country," explained Raila.
He noted that poverty was a serious issue across the country and that leaders must be skilful in trying to alleviate it. The issue has affected many countries across the globe.
"We are talking about a serious issue, a social protections programme and this has been a matter of debate in many societies. How to deal with poor of the poor in the society," he added.
Later that evening, President Uhuru Kenyatta made a surprise appearance at handshake partner, Raila Odinga's private birthday party in Karen.
Odinga's family held an invite-only party for him as he turned 77 years old at his Karen residence.
Kenyatta and Odinga then proceeded to cut a five-layered cake similar to the one cut at the birthday party organised by the Azimio la Umoja Young Turks at the Bomas of Kenya.
The sources further revealed that, Kenyatta again endorsed Odinga to succeed him as president at the end of is term in August 2022.
