Deputy President William Ruto's wife, Rachel Ruto has defended the second-in-command over his dishing out of cash to vulnerable Kenyans and churches.

Speaking during a function in Makueni County, on Thursday, March 24, Mama Rachel told off critics who claim that the DP had amassed wealth while serving as Deputy President.

She stated that the DP embraced the culture of giving since he was a young man and he will keep on contributing money to the needy because he is selfless and generous.

Mama Rachel further noted that people who are bothered by the DP's donations do not know him well. She added that the DP is a giving man by nature and he can give up everything he owns.

She further told the women who were meeting with her in Makueni that if elected, the DP will transform the lives of many because of his giving personality.

"He did not start giving today. So I am pleading with people to stop complaining over his giving. He will keep on giving even more and even if it means he does not have anymore, he will still give.

"The Bible says that the hand that gives is the hand that receives. The secret to being blessed is to give. So I am asking the Makueni people to support UDA," she stated.

The country's Second Lady further drummed up support for DP Ruto and told the women groups to elect her husband in August as she assured them that he had the interest of Kenyans at heart.

"I know the deputy president and he has the good of Kenyans in his heart and I know when God blesses him he will do a lot because he is a selfless person," Mama Rachel stated.

Mama Rachel was accompanied by Makueni leaders led by Deputy Governor,  Adelina Mwau, politician James Mbaluka, and Fred Muteti for her initiative Joyful Women.

She has been passionate about growing women's ventures through her Joyful Women initiative that seeks to ensure women and women-led businesses have access to financial services.
