Linet Chepkorir famously known as Toto, has recounted how chaos at a rally in Bomet earned her a chance to meet Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking during an interview on KTN News on Tuesday, April 19, Chepkorir stated that Ruto noticed her after residents demanded that she addresses them.

The 24-year-old added that she did not have a one-on-one conversation with the DP on that day as the rally turned chaotic when supporters of governor Hillary Bachok and those of Isaac Ruto clashed.

"On January 10, I remember being given a chance to address the crowd because people knew me and they demanded that I speak. That is the moment the DP knew that I was Toto and I was vying for the Woman Representative seat," she narrated.

Chepkorir made headlines after emerging victorious in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) primaries for the Bomet Woman Representative position.

Additionally, she added that her dressing at a Karen meeting earned her prominence among the residents and leaders in UDA.

"When I was in Karen, I took some photos I will show to my children one day to show them that I was once there as the youngest aspirant. I did not know that I was going to trend.

"After coming from the meeting, I was trending everywhere and that is when people knew that I was from Bomet and vying for the Woman Representative seat," she expressed.

Earlier, Chepkorir disclosed that she had been temporarily blocked from Ruto's meeting with Bomet aspirants with security officers at the DP's Karen residence accusing her of intrusion and arguing that she was a child.

"After about an hour, I was allowed in after I showed them my passcode to the meeting; electronically generated for members who have paid UDA aspirants’ fee.

"I took a seat in the back row, then it occurred to me that the Deputy President had not arrived. I walked to the front and requested a person who was standing by to take snapshots of me using my phone so I could provide as evidence that I went to the DP’s residence," she stated then.

Further, the 24-year-old disclosed that she has not yet spoken with the DP after winning the nomination. However, she expressed hopes of engaging him in the near future.

"I want to thank him for giving us that space and allowing the youth to vie for these various positions. I thank him and I am praying for him," she concluded.
