Barely a month after the 2021 candidates sat their KCSE national examinations, the results are out, with varying degrees of fortunes.
According to Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha, out of the 826,807 candidates who sat the national test, 1,138 of them scored a mean grade of A, emerging as the best performers.
The announcement came as a surprise to many as the CS chose to release the results on a weekend, after the event was postponed on Friday, following the demise of Kenya's third President Mwai Kibaki.
Parents whose children excelled are still celebrating the good grades, with top performers already sharing their dream careers. Notably, among these parents are politicians with some taking to social media, unable to contain their excitement.
A wave of exuberance and elation engulfed the home of Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja after his daughter, Brittney Sweeney Samboja posted impeccable results.
Brittney, who studied at the Kenya High, scored an A- in the examination results. She noted that the stellar performance came as a surprise for her and her family. She wants to pursue Interior Architecture in Australia.
"My family was the greatest support system in my entire high school life. My teachers played a major role as well and above all God has been my greatest support. My performance came as a surprise as I was not expecting to perform this better," she stated.
Her father, Governor Samboja, lauded her for the sacrifice and dedication to her education which bore fruits in the just-released KCSE results.
"I'm willing to support her in every way to ensure that she realizes her dream of being an interior architect even if it means selling my parcels of land," he noted.
Further, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura congratulated Nyegenye Gerri Resula, daughter of the Clerk of the Senate, Jeremiah Nyegenye for emerging victorious in the test. Gerri, who studied at Moi High School, scored an A of 84 points.
"Very proud of these results of the daughter of our Clerk Senate Jeremiah Nyegenye. A very humble, intelligent, hardworking clerk that I have had the privilege of working closely with over the years. GOD pays diligence in many ways like this. Like father, like daughter," Mwaura stated.
Former Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale, also made headlines when he posted the results of his two children. The politician is known for celebrating his kids on social media after the release of both the KCPE and KCSE exams.
His children, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale who was at Alliance Girls and Steven Kapten Khalwale at Kakamega High School, scored A- and C+ respectively.
