Kalonzo Nominates TV Anchor to Parliament

Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, nominated TV47 news anchor, Elizabeth 'Lizzah' Mutuku to the Senate.

According to the list of nominees delivered to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Mutuku was nominated alongside Royal Media Services Ltd's Jacqueline Kalenga.

Mutuku is a news anchor and political reporter and currently playing a leading role in the presidential debates. 

The budding news anchor is also an official of the Parliamentary Journalist’s Association.

On the other hand, Kalenga is a presenter with Musyi FM.

The Musyi FM journalist is famous for her championing of the youth agenda through her radio programmes.

She runs Musyi FM's weekly gospel artist’s show - Aikii - where she covers the latest from the gospel industry and Kwaka Musyi, a family inclined programme.

The two have been nominated to top up the gender deficit in the Senate.

Also on the list is a 27-year-old farmer identified as Joshua Mutunga.

Kalonzo also nominated businessman Ahmed Talib to the National Assembly, where he will represent ethnic minorities.

He also nominated 37-year-old clerk, Esther Saina Karbwali, to the National Assembly. She was nominated to Kajiado County Assembly by Jubilee Party in 2017.

Wiper Party Secretary General, Shakila Abdalla, was also nominated to the Senate where she will represent the interests of workers if picked.

For marginalized groups, Wiper nominated Waziri Bakari, Ikrn Ali Dubat, John Kimanthi and Rose Kathoka to the Kitui County Assembly.

Kalonzo also nominated current Members of County Assembly, Urbanus Wambua, Elizabeth Muthike and Lucas Wambua to the Makueni County Assembly.

In Nairobi county, the party picked Kalonzo's kin, Jane Muasya, as the first nominee to City Hall. She currently serves as a nominated MCA in the city.
