The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) is looking for Kenyans to fill up to 32 managerial positions within the organisation.
In a statement shared on Tuesday, August 2, the authority announced that it was hiring for positions ranging from Corporation Secretary and Director of Legal Services to Deputy Director of Risk Assurance.
The applicants will be expected to provide various documents including a detailed CV, copies of academic certificates, professional qualifications, testimonials and day-time telephone numbers among others.
This comes after a series of firings and forced leave for its employees as crackdown intensified against corrupt dealings recorded beginning 2020 when the pandemic hit.
In February 2022, 23 senior managers working at the embattled authority were sent on 45-day compulsory leave.
At the time, the managers were escorted out of the building by the police and were only allowed to pick their personal belongings.
In June 2022, the company issued dismissal letters to all its 900 employees directing them to re-apply for their jobs - a move that was expected to keep hundreds of the staff members out of work.
Some employees were, at the time, disgruntled that their roles had been scrapped off by the company making it hard for them to reapply.
It was estimated that up to 400 workers would be sent packing when the exercise has been concluded.
In what seems to be the first announcement since the directive was issued, KEMSA announced vacancies in the departments of legal services, health products, customer service, strategy and planning among others.
"The authority is seeking to recruit suitably qualified Kenyan citizens to the vacancies to bolster delivery of its mandate," read the notice in part.
