A Mother of a Form Three student at Tala Girls High School in Machakos County has sent an emotional message to Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, asking him to intervene in the death of her daughter.

The girl was said to have died by suicide after she was allegedly accused of stealing Ksh2,500 and a packet of pencils.

Speaking on Saturday, September 3, the grieving mother stated she did not get an opportunity to view and confirm the deceased body before it was ferried to a morgue.

According to the 16-year-old's mother, the school administration failed to update her on what had transpired before the Form Three student reportedly took her own life.

Accusing Tala Girls High School administration of being conniving regarding the mysterious death of her daughter, she called on CS Magoha to sanction the institution to account for what happened prior to her demise.

Additionally, she asked Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to take up the matter personally and fast-track the investigation.

"I request CS Magoha to help me get justice. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, also kindly intervene. The school's principal was reluctant to explain what really transpired," she claimed.

"I was not in the right state of mind to listen to what they were telling them. I was overcome with emotions. I asked them where my daughter was only to be informed that her body was moved to the mortuary," she lamented.

She further blamed the school administration for releasing the information to their media without her consent.

In a suicide note discovered in a dormitory, the 16-year-old had absolved herself, maintaining that she did not commit the offences.

The note further claimed that she was ending her life to save her mother from being subjected to more pain and suffering.

The matter was reported at Tala Police Station in Machakos County on Wednesday, August 31. Tala Girls High School in Machakos County had not yet responded to the allegations by time of publishing.
