A Transline Classic employee who was recorded in a viral video mocking Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has claimed his life is in danger.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, on Thursday, September 8, the man stated that he has been receiving threats since the video went viral on different social media platforms.

He added that the threats had affected his social life to an extent that he has been confined, fearing the consequences.

"Some people have been calling me issuing threats. One person to be specific, has kept on calling me telling me to meet him at an unknown disclosed location. I am going to report and forward the numbers to law enforcement officers," he stated.

He also confirmed that the travelling company had suspended him due to his actions.

In a separate video, the Transline Classic employee had retracted his words pleading with Azimio supporters to forgive him. He explained that he did not intend to drag his employer into the ongoing political discourse.

"I would like to apologise regarding the video going round on different social media platforms. I recorded it out of my stupidity while wearing my working attire.

I did not intend to hurt our customers and Azimio supporters. May you find a place in your heart to forgive me," he stated.

His sentiments rubbed a section of social media users the wrong way forcing Transline Classic to institute disciplinary action against him. The travelling company further dissociated itself from his utterances.

"Our attention has been drawn by a video clip going around the social media done by the casual worker based at our Afya Centre offices.

"As a company, we wish to dissociate ourselves from that clip and state that it was done by the individual's will and does not in any way represent the views of the company," Transline Classic stated.

Raila lost his presidential bid after the Supreme Court validated William Ruto's win. The Seven judge bench held that the petition filed by Azimio and other petitioners did not meet the threshold for nullifying the Presidential election.

The verdict also vindicated the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati who had been accused of committing an electoral offence.
