How Dr Amoth Tried to Save Deputy Governor Who Died at JKIA

Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi narrated how the Acting Director General in the Ministry of Health, Dr Patrick Amoth tried to save the life of his Deputy the late Charles Kipng'ok.

Speaking to the press on Thursday, September 15, Cheboi intimated that Amoth was among the first respondents at the airport when the late Kipng'ok went short of breath while he was boarding the plane.

The medic, who was among the passengers flying to Mombasa, rushed to the scene and tried to help the deputy county boss regain his breath.

"As Kipng'ok was entering the plane, he lost breath and for some reason, he was unable to regain it and passed on.

"We want to thank Dr Amoth who was a passenger travelling onboard who was there and tried to resuscitate and bring back my brother to life even though he was unsuccessful," Cheboi stated.

Medics stationed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) also responded to the emergency but pronounced him dead. The governor stated that the cause of death is yet to be established and cautioned the public against making any speculation.

Baringo County Secretary Francis Komen led the members County Executive Committee (CEC), the Members of County Assembly and other officials in mourning the late Kipng'ok.

"We are saddened an in deep sorrow following the loss of our deputy Govornor. We offer our condolences to his family and the people of Baringo," Komen wrote.

National career Kenya Airways announce the incident, explaining that the flight destined for Mombasa had delayed after a passenger passed away shortly before take off.

A section of leaders led by President William Ruto euologised Kipng'ok and consoled with his family and Baringo County.

"It is extremely unfortunate that the unforgiving hand of death has robbed our country of Hon Kipng'ok at the start of his term as Deputy Governor, a role that would have enabled him to contribute to the transformation of Baringo County," Ruto mourned.

On his part, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, remembered the newly elected Deputy Governor, as a diligent and dedicated leader who committed himself to serving the country.

"My condolences to the family, friends, Governor Cheboi and the people of Baringo County following the sudden demise of Deputy Governor Charles Kipngok. DG Kipngok was a humble and hardworking patriot who dedicate his life, time and energy to public service," the Murkomen stated.
