In the county assembly, the Narc was allocated four nominations, United Democratic Alliance had two while Chama Cha Uzalendo and Jubilee Party had one each.

Initially, Wiper had nominated Kalenga and TV47 news anchor, Elizabeth 'Lizzah' Mutuku to the Senate to top up the gender deficit in the House

The Musyi Fm journalist is famous for her agenda in advocating for the youth through her radio programmes.

She used to run the weekly gospel artist’s show, Aikii, and Kwaka Musyi, a family-inclined programme.

Kalenga joined Musyi FM in 2013 where she debuted on the mid-morning show, Ikya Kw’oko. Her listeners loved her witty stories, jokes, advice and motivational talks that kept them entertained.

Meanwhile, Citizen TV reporter, Nicky Gitonga was appointed as the Director of Communications and spokesperson for the Kwale County Government. Gitonga is set to begin his role on October 14, 2022.

"The work of a director of communications is on a contractual basis for a five-year term.

"So, with a new county government comes new leadership. I saw the position and applied, through God's grace I made it through," Gitonga told Kenyans.co.ke
