President William Ruto undoubtedly assembled a team of seasoned communication experts as part of his press team during the electioneering period.
From press releases to media statements, the press team dotted the i's and crossed the t's to come up with a well-articulated speech that symbolizes Kenya Kwanza's vivid vision.
In perspective, Ruto's speech at the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, United States attracted praise from world leaders in general.
While making his address, Ruto delved into issues of international realities and challenges facing the global economy compounded with a rallying call for the pan-Africanisation of the multilateral system.President William Ruto makes his speech during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, US on September 21, 2022.William Ruto
One expert who is tasked with ensuring the full speech is spot on, is Eric Ng'eno.
Having previously worked at State House as a speechwriter in the Jubilee administration, Ng'eno isn't a stranger to the uphill task.
He held the role from May 2013 to June 2020, as per his LinkedIn, before joining Kipsang and Mutai Advocates as a partner and legal advisor.
Unknown to many, Ng'eno also worked as Ruto's personal assistant in the lead-up to the 2007 General Election.
Media reports indicated that Ruto had requested an expert with legal experience and outstanding communication skills - criteria that fit the advocate to a tee.
Ng'eno was also instrumental in negotiations that led to the National Accord and Reconciliation Act following the 2007/2008 skirmishes.
In a past interview with NTV, the lawyer described Ruto as a person of high standards who lived true to his promises.
Ng'eno studied at Alliance High School before joining Moi University in 1996 to pursue a law degree.
After graduating in 2000, he joined the Kenya School of Law for a post-graduate diploma in Legal studies and also attained a Masters in Public Policy Management at Strathmore Business school in 2017.
Ng'eno has vast experience in legal representation, public policy, regulatory affairs, legal and regulatory compliance and QMS audits, research consultancy, facilitation and strategic communication.A file image of former State House speech writer, Eric Ng'eno.
