Former Citizen TV journalist, Enock Sikolia recounted how he was betrayed by his friends after his stint at Royal Media Services (RMS) ended in 2020.

In a detailed post on Friday, October 28, the CGTN reporter claimed that his friends stopped picking up his calls.

He also recalled launching a YouTube channel, adding that the people he thought were his allies never supported his new venture.

"Sometimes last year, I started my YouTube channel -Kenyan Historian- producing political, development, environmental and wildlife documentaries. Producing content is not a walk in the park.

"You need sources, and since I had left Citizen TV, the ride was going to be bumpy. Some sources I called friends refused to pick up my calls. I had little influence with my small channel then.

In his post, Sikolia praised Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and his Sports counterpart, Ababu Namwamba, for helping him overcome his tribulations.

"These two didn't look down upon my 1,000 subscribers. I did several documentaries with them as my sources.

"While some politicians stopped picking my calls whenever I requested interviews, these two would not just pick but grant me interviews,' he stated.

He credited the growth of his YouTube channel to the two CSs, expressing gratitude for their willingness to assist him when he needed it the most.

"I am so grateful to these two gentlemen and other govt officials who looked beyond our few subscribers then and helped," Sikolia added.

He further highlighted that Duale and Namwamba were well-suited to aiding President William Ruto in securing his legacy.

"I am glad they were appointed as CSs. My hope and prayer are that they deliver to Kenyans as a whole," he stated.

Sikolia joined Citizen TV in 2018. He later joined CGTN weeks after leaving RMS.
