Former Nairobi governor, Mike Sonko, offered a cash reward of Ksh100,000 to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of three directors of a company behind the demolition of the Ksh80 million mansion in Westlands.
The trio were accused of claiming ownership of the house that was brought down on November 4.
Niraj Shah and his wife, Avani Shah, who claimed to have inhabited the house for the last 46 years, were forcefully evicted.
"I'm offering a reward of Ksh100,000 to anyone who will give information to the police that will lead to their arrest," Sonko announced on Tuesday, November 22.
One of the company's four directors was arrested and charged in court on November 14, while his three other co-directors took off and have been on the run ever since.
The arrested director pleaded not guilty to the charges of robbery with violence and was released on a Ksh2 million cash bail.
Sonko, known for his philanthropy and assisting the less fortunate in society, has been following up on the unfortunate saga since it happened.
Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) issued a warrant of arrest against the trio wanted for malicious damage to property and robbery with violence.
The auctioneer responsible for the eviction and demolition of the Ksh80 million home was arrested by DCI sleuths on November 8 and later released on a Ksh200,000 cash bail after spending one day in custody.
He, however, claimed to have had a court order to evict the family by the claimant of the one-acre land.
Following an intense probe, DCI detectives recovered several household items belonging to the Shah family on November 20, at a shop located in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).
