The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has settled on Chege Njuguna as the party's flag bearer in the forthcoming Kandara parliamentary mini-polls.
The party held its primaries on Saturday, November 26 as the race to replace Alice Wahome as the area Member of Parliament hots up.

Njuguna secured 7,826 of the votes with Titus Njau coming in second with 5,335 votes.
The other candidates who were eyeing the ruling party's ticket included Stephen Mwaura who garnered 4,414 of the votes followed by James Kamau and Evelyn Waithira with 2,191 and 1,267 respectively.
Chege was among 14 other aspirants who were eying the UDA ticket for the by-election that is slated for January 5, 2023.
Chege thanked UDA party members who came out and voted for him in the party primaries.
"I'm humbled and honored to have won. I urge all Kandara residents to come out in large numbers and vote for me on January 5, to stamp this win," he stated.
Njuguna previously ran against Alice Wahome for the same position on a Chama cha Kazi ticket during the August 9, elections but came in second behind the former MP.
During the August 9 elections, Njuguna only managed 19,260 votes against Wahome who garnered 39,009 votes.
Njuguna's intensive campaigns before the August polls are likely to have given him an upper hand against his opponents.
However, some of the contestants for the UDA ticket complained of irregularities during the party primaries.A photo of former Inooro FM Presenter Waithira Muithirania.Waithira Muithirania
