Former Nairobi governor, Mike Sonko, urged the media to be tolerant and conduct due diligence while conducting investigations.

Sonko, on Tuesday, November 29, argued that an article published by Nation insinuated that Kenyans working in Saudi Arabia live in moral decadence while some are hooked to drugs and alcohol.

The addictions were reportedly necessitated by Kenyans escaping from cruel employers in search of better opportunities. However, their lives turned upside down while fending for themselves.

Lucrative lifestyles that some immigrants prefer from domestic work were also cited as a major contributing factor to immorality which breeds love trianglesm, mysterious disappearances and murders.

Sonko was mentioned in the article and credited with airlifting the bodies of three Kenyan ladies who died under mysterious circumstances in the gulf nation.

The former governor, a strong advocate of fellow countrymen who suffer and regrettably perish in the gulf nations, defended the ladies in Saudi Arabia from the reports.

"Kenyans are going to the Middle East because of the lack of job opportunities in our country. Most want to change their family backgrounds and end the poverty they have suffered since childhood," Sonko detailed.

The politician urged journalists to conduct thorough investigations before reporting on such sensitive issues to avoid misinforming the public.

"Some of these people are forced to engage in illegal activities, or worse, have their organs harvested for the black market," Sonko inferred.

In equal measure, he vehemently condemned the publication for totally disregarding the tormented families of the deceased victims, pleading with news sources to be considerate to the feelings of the distressed families that are thrown into untimely mourning.

In rejoinder, Sonko announced that he would reveal the identities of rogue Kenyan agents who lure the young helpless women to their deaths after enticing them with false promises.

The former county boss has always been in the spotlight for his philanthropic work and financial generosity. Sonko has always strived to rescue Kenyans from their plight.

Through his Sonko Rescue Team, the politician has also repatriated bodies and funded burials for the affected families.

"I have been personally coordinating with my team in Saudi and the Kenyan Embassy to oversee the removal of the bodies from the mortuary to the airport and back to Kenya," he explained.
