Crowd-pulling pastor Ezekiel Odero on Saturday, December 10, pulled back the curtain allowing the media into the sprawling 65-acre property owned by New Life Church which he founded.

Odero noted that the multi-million investment in Mavueni, Kilifi County, is set to become a self-sufficient neighbourhood with several social amenities.

True to the very word that he preaches, the man of cloth used 10 per cent of the land to construct a mega-church.

"The church sits on six and a half acres of land and has a capacity of over 6,000 people - each sitting on plastic chairs," Odero told NTV.

One of the several hotels set to occupy a slice of the property is nearing completion. It will stand alongside other establishments including malls and supermarkets.

In addition, several residential houses will be put up on the property whose occupants will have access to an international school and university.

Other amenities include a hospital and a rehabilitation centre. The church will build cottages and a helipad to cater for its faithful.

"Most of the congregants come from Nairobi, Tanzania, America and all over the world. We do not have believers from Coast, they are very few," Odero explained.

Speaking on the crowd he pulled during an event at Kasarani stadium, the pastor maintained that the photos were not manipulated and that he was only a messenger to spread the word.

"It is impossible for me to pull such a crowd; people came to see Jesus who was manifesting himself and working miracles through me. My greatest joy in life is to see people get saved and healed," he clarified.

Odero clarified that he received his calling to the altar after he was forced to drop out of the university while in third year for lack of school fees.

He admitted that the pulpit has robbed him of time with his family as he barely hangs out with his children.
