Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi divulged the roles of the two missing Indian nationals in President William Ruto's campaign.

Speaking during an interview on Thursday, December 29, Itumbi intimated that Zulfiqar Khan and Mohammad Zaid approached the campaign team in June, offering a variety of services.

He explained that Khan and Zaid were media experts who provided insights on how best Ruto's campaign team would use social media.

"They had some ideas along the language and tonality of our social media and also wanted to do our graphics and posters.

"Out of the work they presented, we adopted about 40 per cent including the software that enabled us to shoot and quickly edit videos," Itumbi told Citizen TV.

Itumbi expressed hope that the two Indians who went missing after a night of merry-making would be found alive and that the leads established by the investigators would help locate them.

On the other hand, he addressed claims of being left out of President Ruto's government despite playing a pivotal role in the campaigns.

"My job is 'come here, go there'. The contract is with the people of Kenya through the president - as of the moment, it is voluntary," he expounded.

He disclosed that he was the chair of the committee on tech and innovation during Jamuhuri Day celebrations and was the in-charge of the communication and branding of the Hustler Fund.

Itumbi explained that he formed a separate media channel, the Hustler Nation Intelligence Bureau (HNIB) because he felt the coverage my mainstream was inadequate.

He disclosed that he had inroads within former President Uhuru Kenyatta's government which fed him 'intelligence' at unusual locations.

"Most of the times I met my sources in hospital wards, anywhere else we were heavily tracked and traced," he disclosed.

Nonetheless, he explained that the HNIB would take a new role as from January 15, 2023, to highlight the works of the government.
