Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed his unknown past life where he was once in the entertainment industry.

Appearing on Inooro TV on Sunday, January 8, the DP talked of his experience as a musician at one of the famous clubs in Nairobi city.

“I was once a dance songs musician at Dolce club on Koinange street,” he revealed.

He made the remarks while proposing how clubs would still operate in residential areas without being closed down.

Gachagua stated that the best way would be a sit down with club owners and give them enough time to soundproof their facilities to minimise noise pollution.

“The club was soundproofed such that you could hear no noise from outside. Remember that the bar owners are parents who also need to continue with their businesses to meet their daily bread.

Hold a meeting with them and agree on a period which will be suitable for them to install soundproofs in these bars,” he stated.

The second in command announced that he will never stop fighting for the business people in the country now that he is the DP.

“I am still the same Gachagua who has been fighting for my people. If this will make me described as a tribalist then may it be,” he announced.

Addressing Inooro TV presenter Francis Gachuiri, Gachagua gave conditions for media interviews noting that they should be happening quarterly.

“We will sit here again in April, I will only be having four interviews each year,” he uttered.

Dolce club, which dates back to the '80s was started by Habib Omar Kongo, a seasoned operative within Nairobi’s entertainment circles who had previously been a director at another club, Lipps which was located on Moi Avenue in Nairobi.
