KPLC Announces Power Outage in 20 Nairobi Estates & 2 Other Counties

Kenya Power, which trades under the KPLC ticker on Nairobi Stock Exchange, published a list of areas in Nairobi expected to suffer an 8-hour power outage on Tuesday, January 10.

Apart from Nairobi County, the company further announced that several regions in Kiambu and Homa Bay counties will be affected by the energy rationing drive.

In a notice, KPLC announced the expected outages were necessitated by scheduled maintenance.

In Nairobi, one of the areas that will be affected is the Joska Feeder region.

In Joska, the following areas will experience a power blackout; Ruai Shopping Center, Ruai Police, Ruai DC, Githunguri, Block 10, Makongeni, Stage 26, Twin Bird, and Kipawa.

Other areas affected in Joska include; Made in the Streets, Kingoris, Kamulu, Reflector, Brookshire, Ngond and adjacent customers.

Mirema Estate will also experience power blackouts on Tuesday, January 10.

The following areas in Mirema will be affected because of the scheduled routine maintenance; Mirema Drive, Burberry Hotel, Ponty Pridd Holdings Limited, Mirema Spring Estate.

All the aforementioned areas in Nairobi will experience blackouts from 9 am to 5 pm.

In Kiambu, the following areas will also experience blackouts simultaneously with Nairobi.

The areas affected include; Kirigiti, Riabai, Mboi Kamiti, Migaa Estate, St Anne’s Lioki, Karia Market, Todas Bar, Waironjo, Ngurunga Farm, Kifisha Farm, Nyara, Kanjimbi, Marion School, Shawazi and Gulmerg.

In Homa Bay County, residents of Mbita, Rusinga Island, and Waondo areas will not have power from 9 am to 3 pm according to KPLC.
