Administration Police Service announced traffic disruption along Nairobi's Eastern bypass and other roads on Wednesday, January 11.
In a notice, the Administration Police explained that the disruption will be occasioned by the passing out parade at National Police College, Embasaki A Campus, formerly known as Administration Police Training College.
According to the notice, President William Ruto and other government officials are expected to attend the passing out parade in Embakasi.
Due to the occasion, traffic snarl-up will be experienced along Eastern Bypass and other adjacent roads near Embakasi and Utawala.
"For traffic snarl-ups along Eastern Bypass and the adjacent roads. This will be occasioned by our passing out parade today at NPC Embakasi A Campus (formerly APTC), Utawala," Administration Police stated.
Due to the event, police urged motorists plying the route to exercise lane discipline and follow directives issued by traffic marshalls along Eastern Bypass and other adjacent roads.
"We call on motorists to be patient and observe lane discipline, follow directives given by NPS officers on the ground to allow smooth flow of traffic as we work to ensure normal operations go on," police stated.
"We regret any inconveniences that may be caused," the notice added.
On Tuesday, January 10, Ruto attended the passing out parade for 2,881 officers at Kiganjo Police College, Nyeri County.
Speaking during the event, the Head of State stated that the government had already lived up to some of its promises to the police force.
"On my first day in office I executed an instrument granting the National Police Service financial autonomy and independence to maintain efficiency and professionalism," the president stated.
"We have established the Police and Prisons Services Reforms Task Force to look into a broad range of issues for the purpose of improving service delivery," he added.
