Agriculture CS Announces Govt Vacancies for Farmers; How to Apply

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi called on farmers to apply for job opportunities at the Food Authority (AFA).

In a notice published on Wednesday, January 11, the ministry noted that it was seeking to recruit farmers from various farmers' organisations to the statutory body.

The ministry indicated that it was recruiting eight members to the board with each organisation required to nominate three members.

"In this regard, the Cabinet Secretary invites bona fide farmer organisations representing the various crop subsectors under the Authority's purview namely: sugar, coffee, nuts crops, food crops, horticultural crops, fibre crops, miraa crops and pyrethrum to nominate members," read the advert in part.

To be eligible for nomination, one is required to hold a degree, have proven business management and have served in senior management for a period of at least six years.

The organisation nominating must have members from across the geographical regions where the crop is grown in Kenya and should provide a list of its members.

They must have been in existence for a period of at least 3 years and copy of their constitution.

"Each organization must provide names of the three nominees out of which at least one must be of a different gender to meet the one-third gender rule," read the advert in part.

Names of nominees must be sent to the CS by January 24.

Additional Job Opportunities

On the other hand, the Kenya Dairy Board announced opportunities for 16 positions ranging from management down to office desk positions.

The board indicated that it was recruiting six office assistants, two drivers and compliance officers.

Other jobs advertised included principal internal audit, senior dairy development officer, human resource manager, records management assistant and senior security officer.

Interested candidates were advised to visit the website - www (dot)kdb(dot)co(dot)ke - to understand specific roles and requirements for each job.

"All applications should only be submitted online via email on or before midnight of 25th January 2023 to recruit@kdb(dot)co(dot)ke," read the advert in part.

Applications are required to be addressed to the managing director of the board.
