Politics in Kenya is always associated with opulence and status and thus politicians strive to showcase this or work towards that.
From classy SUV vehicles to designer clothes and luxurious mansions, it is a fantasy that keeps their followers glued on their daily activities.
On Saturday, January 21 Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika hosted former Senators she served with in the third Senate at her Nakuru, Ngata residence as Kenyans marvelled at the opulence and state-of-the-art mansion she owns.
Through her statement on social media, she revealed that she had hosted her colleagues at her home.
“Friends are relatives you make for yourself! Had a great afternoon hosting my great friends Senators from the 12th Parliament (2017-2022). Wonderful friends and a great group of leaders,” she commented.
The mansion has a beautiful exterior decor that offers a sight to behold. It features a maroon roof, white walls and large windows.
Her homestead has a vast compound with well-manicured green lawns giving it a scenic view.
Inside the compound are cabro-installed footpaths that link the main house to other houses.
Kihika has used her residence to not only host fellow politicians but also locals who throng her Ngata home to celebrate activities such as Christmas.
The pavement leading to Kihika's beautiful home is also concrete, and beside it is a beautiful garden.
Also, the residence is surrounded by a beautiful fence made of concrete and vegetation. The expansive residence also has lovely lights all around.
The breathtaking house also features a gazebo on the backyard's far end. It features a chimney, and it ostensibly offers a great view of the landscape.
On November 7, Kihika wedded her longtime friend and businessman Sam Mburu in a colourful traditional wedding.
The ceremony, was hosted at the Kihika family ranch in Marmanet (Nyahururu), and was graced by President William Ruto.
In the August 2022 elections, Kihika won the gubernatorial race after garnering 440,707 votes.
Kihika contested under the UDA ticket and edged her closest competitor and incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui who managed to get 225,623 votes.
Governor Kihika is the daughter of the late powerful and wealthy politician Kihika Kimani who served as Nakuru East Member of Parliament.
Before joining the Senate in 2017, Kihika served as Nakuru County Assembly's first Speaker.
