Former NTV news anchor Lizz Ntonjira landed yet another international job 9 years after quitting the Kimathi Street-based media house.

This is after Ntonjira was appointed the Communications and Engagement Director of WomenLift Health.

In a statement released by the organization on Sunday, February 19, Ntonjira's appointment was effective February 2023.

WomenLift Health is a nonprofit organization (NGO) that aims at working with partners around the world to accelerate the advancement of talented women into senior leadership.

The organization achieves its objectives by investing in mid-career women and influencing the environments in which they live and work.

"In her new role, Lizz will lead and implement WomenLift Health’s communications and engagement strategy across the world with an initial focus in Africa, South Asia, and North America," the NGO announced in a statement.

While sharing the news of her appointment with her followers on LinkedIn, the 35-year-old thanked Kenyans for the love and congratulatory messages they had sent her.

"I truly appreciate all the wonderful and heartwarming messages I have received. I am grateful and can't wait to get the ball rolling on my new role," Ntonjira stated.

“I am thrilled to be joining the WomenLift Health team as it tirelessly works to advance and equip women leaders with the tools, expertise, and leadership skills for health impact," she continued.

Before her appointment, Ntojira was the Global Communication Director at Amref Health Africa, a position she held for over four years.

The Bachelor of Laws graduate from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa launched her career at K24 in 2007 as a news anchor, reporter, and producer while doubling up as a staff writer at the East Africa Magazine.

Two years later, she made a switch to NTV where she worked as a news anchor and reporter for four years before enjoying a stint in government as the Competition Authority of Kenya's Public Relations, Communications, and External Affairs manager.

The Virginia Commonwealth University's public management fellow then moved on to work with SAID, Tax Justice Network - Africa and later IBM before landing her most recent role at AMREF.

At AMREF, Ntonjira was the organization's global communications director, a position she held for four years before making the switch to WomenLift Health.

Ntonjira also holds a postgraduate Professional Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in the UK, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Strathmore University.

She has received several awards and recognitions throughout her tenure, and in August 2020, Lizz self-published and released her first book about youth and leadership.
