Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure was ranked as the top-performing member of President William Ruto’s Cabinet during Kenya Kwanza's first 100 days in office, according to a poll by Infotrak

The survey was conducted in seven regions in Kenya and released on Tuesday, February 28. It encompassed over 2,000 respondents.

27 per cent of the respondents in the poll noted that Kindiki was the best in terms of performance followed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu who scored 12 per cent.

Sports and Culture Cabinet Secretary Ababu came in third with an approval rating of 8 per cent.

On the other hand, Mining and Blue Economy CS Sakim Mvurya received the lowest rating with 0.2 per cent, to tie him with his Labour counterpart Florence Bore who also had a rating of 0.2 per cent.

According to Infotrak, 452 respondents did not name vote for any cabinet secretary as they were convinced that none had stood out to warrant recognition.

"452 failed to give a score to the ministers, they failed to see any of the 22 as a performing minister so they didn’t give any ranking," Infotrak stated.

At the same time, the poll's findings indicated that the high cost of living, quality of education, unemployment and agriculture were among the key concerns raised by Kenyans featured in the survey during President Ruto's term.

72 per cent of the respondents mentioned high cost of Living, while 30 per cent were concerned about unemployment.

25 per cent of the respondents were concerned about the quality of education in the country, with another 19 per cent worried about the state of Agriculture.

Prof Kindiki's rating came despite the myriad of challenges facing Kenya's security owing to threats posed by banditry and other organized groups.

Since assuming office as the Interior CS, Kindiki has traversed the country to meet regional security chiefs and residents in affected areas in a bid to curtail crime activities.

On his part, Education CS Machogu has been omnipresent in the media in his duties of overseeing key activities in the Ministry of education.
