The African Union on Thursday, March 2, released a video that sought to put to perspective Kenya's former President Uhuru Kenyatta mission in Nigeria.

In the video, Uhuru, who is leading AU's Election Observation Mission, gave a sneak peek of his hotel-room and the gentle hospitality that he received while in Nigeria.

"There are many challenges, and we all know that, but those challenges are not peculiar to Nigeria," Uhuru narrated in a two-minute video that was shared on the Twitter account of the African Union Political Affairs Peace and Security.

At a glance, Uhuru's hotel-room offered a panoramic view of the Nigerian capital city, Abuja, where African Union Election Observation Mission was based.

As he began his day, Uhuru tucked up his blue jeans trouser, white T-shirt and black and white socks - a matching mode that almost presented the former President as a young vibrant man.

In the five star hotel-room, Uhuru is seen putting on his brown half-jacket that is  synonymous with election observers worldwide.

"There is life after an election exercise," Uhuru urged Nigerians who were agitating against the Inec results that declared Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu as the winner of the Saturday, February 25, 2023, General Election.

On his wrist, he glides his expensive watch and then takes a short tour of the rooms before heading out to begin his mandate of observing how over 90 million Nigerian voters cast their ballots.

Uhuru took the position of an ordinary person with an extraordinary responsibility, literally walking on the streets of Abuja to witness Africa's largest democracy undertake the vital exercise.

The former Head of State narrated the role of African Union Election Observation Mission as that which included providing an accurate and impartial assessment of the electoral process.

As part of his responsibility, Uhuru was tasked with the responsibility of evaluating the degree to which the conduct of the elections met regional, continental and international standards for democratic elections.

After the elections, Uhuru's team released a report that offered recommendations for improvement of future Nigerian elections based on the findings that they read out to the media.

Throughout his stay in Nigeria, Uhuru demonstrated AU’s solidarity and support towards consolidation of democracy, peace, stability and development in Nigeria.

"What we want is to ensure that the eventual outcome of the election reflects the will of the people of Nigeria," Uhuru explained in the video.
