"It is really a matter of national interest because she saw the structure of governing coming together, and how politics, including rough politics, was played.

"I am sure she was talking to all these power brokers so she must know a lot. She is a treasure trove of information," Maina stated.

The popular radio presenter stated that he would reach out to his close friend, former President Uhuru Kenyatta,  to pull strings to ensure that one-on-one takes place.

He disclosed that he had previous encounters with Mama Ngina as a young man while playing golf at the Kiambu Golf Club, revealing her down-to-earth persona.

"I used to play golf at the Kiambu Club and in the evening would play darts with Karume, with whom she was close friends. She would come have a cup of tea and at times would pick up my bills and pay them," Maina stated.

In the pilot episode, the veteran media personality revealed that he enjoyed cordial relations with three presidents; the late Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru and President William Ruto.

He recalled how he worked in Kibaki's and Uhuru's presidential campaigns. Despite being very close with the former head of state, he mentioned that Ruto was a tactful politician.

"Ruto knew what he would face in 2022 10 years ago. What he told me a few weeks after he was inaugurated as DP played out exactly as he predicted," Maina remarked.

On Mama Rachel, he described her as a humble lady, who once got up at 11.30 p.m to prepare him a meal when he visited the Deputy President's residence during the past regime.
